Brief Answer:
Strep throat is accompanied by high fever up 39°C.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

Not every sore throat is meant to be strep throat.
Normally strep throat is accompanied by high fever up to 39°C with very bad throat ache and with white pus spots on tonsils.
A doctor should examine his throat shinning a lamp on it to see the tonsils and probably a throat swap may be done.

A sore throat with headache without fever accompanied by body aches seems more like a common cold or flu.

Hope I have answered the question.
