Question: i have a history digestive issues for many years. i am 47 yrs old. primarily constipation , excessive gas. for quite a while i believed i had piles/ haemorrhoids which somehow disappeared an year ago. i have been to many doctors. last one asked me to get an Anorectal manometry done which i did and the doctor felt it was not in good shape but not severe so suggested some exercise under doctor supervision . but then corona happened and i am unable and unwilling to go that hospital. for past two days i am having difficulty in passing gas as if the anus is not opening at cue resulting in bloating. Only thing that helps a little is Cremaffin but I am worried to be using it every day .

Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor.
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.
From the history you have provided looks like you have an function evaucation disorder.
Try following things and see how you feel
1. increase dietary fibre intake
2 go for regular walk, jog if it is possible
3 use XXXXXXX toilet if possible
4 if using a western toilet can use a stool support below your legs when you sit
5 strictly avoid straining for stools
6 do the exercises as suggested by your doctor for your perineal muscles
7 avoid maneuvers if any for stool evacuation like digital evacuation
8 continue cremaffin if you feel better can add isapgula husk like fabolite one to two tsp in addition to cremaffin
hope this answers your query.
Happy to help.
Wish you a speedy recovery.

1. increase dietary fibre intake

would you be kind to give real world examples like what grain , fruit vegetables?

5 strictly avoid straining for stools

but more than stool i have to strain to get gas out otherwise i am kind of in mild pain all day .. release of gas helps ease that pain .. so what can be done to release gas. any over the counter tablet that help release gas ?

6 do the exercises as suggested by your doctor for your perineal muscles

i was suppose to go to the doctor once every week and was suppose to do that under his supervision. so can you suggest where can i read on internet and follow those exercise ?

7 avoid maneuvers if any for stool evacuation like digital evacuation

8 continue cremaffin if you feel better can add isapgula husk like fabolite one to two tsp in addition to cremaffin

i have to take it daily everyday for past one week and sometime twice ..just to get some gas and stool out. nothing else helps i take around 30 ml ... really worried of it long term effect ?

hope this answers your query.

please suggests way to help release gas and thank you immensely

Brief Answer:
hi

Detailed Answer:

Hello
sorry for delay in answering the query.
1) High fiber diet like - salads, fruits bananas.

2) to release gas dont strain
daily jogging will help also increase water intake too.
Tablets dont help much.
3) those exercises to be done under medical supervision only initially
4) add isapgula husk and then reduce dose of cremaffin

Best wishes
