Brief Answer:
Approxiamately 10 years without proper lifestyle modification.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It usually takes 10 year on average for NAFLD to progress into cirrhosis. However, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol and an increased waist circumference (above 102 cms in men) can make the progression fast.

Average time is 10 years.

Hope I was helpful.
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, with a proper diet and lifestyle modification, you can restrict NAFLD in stage 1 only. Progression could be restricted by following complete inhibition of alcohol and taking a low fat high protein and carbs (complex) diet.

Liver rejuvenators like Silymarin could also be taken. They help in rejuvenation of liver.

Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks!
