Brief Answer:
most probably dementia that needs further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.
I have gone through your problems and I would like to ask you certain questions that can make me help you better-
1. May i know your profession and your family environment (as in if your family members stay with you?)
2.. Since how long have you been experiencing forgetfulness?
3. Are you forgetting things of recent memory or long term memory?
4. Do you experience difficulty in finding your way home when you go for a walk alone?

Since your problem is hinting towards memory problem and you are around 54yrs old it would also be very important to consult a psychiatrist who will run investigations like blood tests and radiological investigations to help you better to reach to the organic cause of the dementia (forgetfullness).

Hope your question was answered to a satisfactory extent.
Get well soon.
Regards,

I am working in government service in XXXXXXX
Only my brother stays with me
My wife and daughter are separated from me since last three years
My mother is aged 91 years old.
I am trying for separation from my wife in an amicable Manner
The forgetfulness has started about one year back
And relates to recent things
For example
I will leave from home for office but once I arrive at the office I cannot remember the route I followed
Sometimes I forget the time and feel it is 5 PM whereas actually it is only 1 PM. Once I have left the office at 1 PM thinking it is 5 PM and time to go home
Please advise

Brief Answer:
Mostly stress related

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thank you for the information.

It seems like you are going through alot of stress in life which seems to be the reason for forgetfulness.

You need to be more calm about matters. Doing meditation and yoga would be a very good alternative if implemented on a daily basis. Early morning kindly learn to meditate for atleast 15-20 min before you start your day.

Since you are with your brother , you could go on evening walks together . Exercise releases endorphins which are 'feel good' hormones and doing activities like yoga and exercise (walks)will help you to a great extent.

It seems mostly psychological in your case due to stress. However, you do need to consult a psychiatrist regarding the forgetfulness to get few investigations done to rule out any organic cause of dementia (forgetfulness).

As of now the main aim is to relax your mind with meditation and to keep yourself occupied with activities other than work. Also , kindly interact with your neighbours as it will help you alot by relaxing your mnd.

If there is anything i can help you with kindly let me know.

Thank you.
Dr. Riyanka
