default
Posted on Fri, 5 Mar 2021
Question: a heavy picture fell off the wall & hit me in the head 2 days ago. Hurt at time & put ice bag on it as lump started to form. Lump went down in a few minutes & I was fine. Went back to work cleaning. Have been fine but last night darkness formed under my left eye. Was hit on front left side inside the hair line. I think blood leaked under my skin. this morning it has spread to a bit larger area.

Brief Answer:
It could be Haematoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it looks like Haematoma (collection of blood) causing Black Eye.
The main points that have to be seen after Head injury are Loss of Consciousness, Bleeding per EAR/NOSE/THROAT; Vomiting. As these three symptoms are absent in your case, major injury is excluded.
The present condition is due to rupture of small blood vessel due to trauma leading to collection of blood and spreading to nearby areas.
Nothing to worry.
It will get subsided gradually.
I prescribe Anti inflammatory tablet and Tablet containing TRYPSIN, CHYMOTRYPSIN to my patients with similar complaints.
Please consult your doctor and get appropriate prescription.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
