What Could Be Causing A Sudden Episode Of Nausea For A Day?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Feb 2024
Question: Yes, thank you. My wife is a 73 y.o.f., and periodically she will experience an episode of nausea for a day or, and then the condition passes. No accompanying vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain. She takes hypertension medication, a thyroid medication, and Crestor. In April 2017 she had her uterus removed, and the pathological exam revealed a small amount of cancer, which the physician rated as stage 1A. She also suffered from a prolapsed bladder, which was repaired during this surgery. Finally in August 2017 her OB/GYN doctor recommended that her ovaries be removed for prophylactic reasons, however no evidence of any cancer was found.
Do you have any ideas which may cause this problem? Thank you.

Migraine or vestibular stimulation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us for your health concerns. I can understand your concern and will try to help you sort out your problems. First of all we are sad to know that you have been suffering from health issue.

Sir does your wife have any dizziness or headache or blurring of vision during the episode or any ear pain? If there is any vestibular stimulation also nausea can be there also if there is migrainal episodes about to occur there will be more of nausea. So we need to rule out between these two. If both are not there then she can prophylactically take domperidone or ondansetron for 3-5 days to control vomiting. But make sure if any disease is there found out. Feel free to ask any questions.

I hope this info helps you sort out your problems and if you feel its helpful kindly give me user thank vote happy health!

There is no associated dizziness or vomiting. These seem to be transient episodes, lasting a day or two. No eat pain either.

Brief Answer:
Not migraine or vestibular stimulation

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam if there is no nausea and dizziness then migraine and vestibular stimulation are unlikely. Kindly take prophylactic treatment for vomiting like ondansetron or domperidone. Don't worry it wouldn't be due to cancer. Feel free to ask any other problems. Happy health hit thanks.
