Question: take adderall 10mg twice a day but it didn't show up in urine test. Is there a reason for this? Would this indicate a health problem.

Brief Answer:
Not at all a health problem

Detailed Answer:
First, that is the lowest dose of adderall.
At that level, the common test would miss it at least 20% of the time and maybe closer to half the time.
http://jat.oxfordjournals.org/content/28/7/563.long (note, there were a lot of misses and they were taking DOUBLE the level you were... a level of 500-1000 is needed for positive. Take half of all the values they got... and you see.
This is assuming the urine test was taken Perfectly... .right at the peak. The drug goes out of your system and is gone in 5 days at 20 mg and probably much closer to TWO days at your dose. Furthermore, if you are a big person then the levels are diluted and lower and harder to detect.

Second, it is metabolized by the liver and having MORE metabolism of it isn't a problem; a diseased liver would get rid of LESS of it and there would be more around to detect on urine screen.
Hope this helps

I weigh 100 pounds. I took the first morning dose at 9:30 am and the test was taken 2hrs after that time. The prescription drugs I take is Loratadine (10mg 1 daily), Omeprazole Dr 10mg 2@night; Pravastatin 40mg 1@night., Over the counter--I take Multivitamin, calcium, super B, fish oil, chromium & stool softener. I been on the adderall for over 2 yrs taking 2 tablet 10mg each, one in morn and 1 in the afternoon. So i would think traces of the adderall s/b still in my system??? Please help me to explain this results.

Brief Answer:
You are NOT abusing the drugs

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The drug screens were developed for drug abusers who take doses somewhat (3- 5 times more at LEAST) to up to 10 times more. The article I mentioned as based on a typical dose for a non-abuser and that was twice what you take. The cut off the test uses for positivity seems to generally be 1000
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/0000

I thought the level of drug detection used was half that high and the test was more sensitive than what it apparently is. You are NOT abusing the drugs, your level is not necessarily going to be high enough to detect. I hope you are not in trouble because of a (false) negative test.

The concentration of drug in urine varies with how much water is in the urine. generally we like the first urine in the morning because it tends to be more concentrated.
The medicines you are on will NOT interact with either the adderal NOR with the urine test to any significant amount.
