Question: Without going into too much detail, I have a condition that makes me allergic to lots of things. I cannot take prenatals and eating a balanced diet is difficult. I realized I may need to supplement my iodine intake (cuz I can't eat any foods that contain it). So, I started taking a supplement that had lots of reviews on XXXXXXX and didn't think much of it (a drop 3xs a week). I was looking at the bottle today, and realized it's something called Nascent Iodine. I can't find much about it online. And, I started panicking a bit. What the heck is it? And, is it safe in pregnancy??

Brief Answer:
Supplements of nascent iodine can be taken.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns.
A supplement that contains nascent iodine can be taken as a supplement in moderation during pregnancy to keep your thyroid hormone levels at normal levels. It is always better to start such supplements after getting the blood levels checked and after proper consultation with your treating gynecologist.
I hope this answers your query.
