Brief Answer:
Yes, it surely will; slow progress but surely will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. As the lumbar region of the spine greatly depends on the abdominal and lower back muscles, strengthening them will surely help. The muscles located in the lower back region greatly strengthen the back for posterior support, whereas, the abdominal muscles provide support anteriorly which then reflects a certain amount of pressure on the lower back again, and so strengthening the abdominal muscles provides support anteriorly.

I hope this helps clear things, as the theory behind physical exercises helping is simple and is also effective, but might take some amount of time. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
