Will Clorozepate For Anxiety Show Up On Drug Screen?

default
Posted on Mon, 26 May 2014
Question: I am about to get an employment drug screen. A few weeks back a family member gave me a couple of pills of their prescription medicine they use for anxiety (Clorozepate Dipotass). I'm trying to find out if this will show up on a drug screen or should I tell the lab I have a prescription for this?

Brief Answer:
It should not show up in drug test

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting your query on HCM,

Normally, after a couple of weeks most substances should not be detected during drug testing especially if you had not been a regular user. If you are sure that you took just a couple of pills some weeks ago, then you should be rest assured that you will not test positive for drug use. There is no need to tell the lab you have a prescription, as they will obviously ask for your prescription note from a doctor.
Just stay calm then go through the testing normally (just make sure you do not use any substances-of abuse- within 72 hours before testing).
Also, in the future try not to take any prescription medications that was not meant for you as it might lead to some serious consequences to your health.

Hope this helps and wish you the best.
