Question: My wife is 30 years old.
We have a 5 month old baby.
My wife has been suffering from fibromyalgia for almost 4 years now. Is there any specialist we an consult(she is on physiotherapy constantly)

Thanks for the query.

Fibromyalgia can present with many symptoms as pain, stiffness, tenderness of muscles / tendons / joints without detectable inflammation, fatigue, irritable bowels, sleep problems, etc. There is also significant history of stress.

It is important that she is investigated to rule out other causes. In case of fibromyalgia all investigations are in normal limits.

As per my ayurveda experience, this is in vaat disease group and is CURABLE by ayurveda medicines.

Please mention the symptoms your wife has; the severity of all symptoms; duration since when she is suffering and about other complains in details. Also please specify how it was started and in which season or time or condition it decreased and increased.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
My wife has consulted with Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX MBBS (JIPMER), MS Ortho (JIPMER), DNB Ortho, Dip. Ortho, M Sc. Orthopaedic Engineering (UK), Dip. Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Technology (UK), Fellow, AACP&DM (USA), Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics (UK & USA), Certificate in Ergonomics (Sweden)

She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteopenia
Before conceiving she has undergone Physiotherapy(myotherapy) for around 9months. Medications taken were Pregabalin(150mg), celadrin and Supracal-OS for around 1year.

Current state:
She is lactating, not taking pregabalin and celadrin. Taking Plain 'Supracal' tablets.
Intense pain (in left and right hands,neck,legs and back)comes with activity(house hold works like washing very few vessels only once, cutting vegetables like 3-4 onions)
The pain persists until she takes complete rest,applies moov/any pain killer ointment and myotherapy.
Are there any side effects of ayurvedic medicines.
Are there any one who have been completely cured of fibromyalgia when they follow ayurvedic
Can ayurvedic medicines be taken by lactating mothers
How long should the ayurvedic medicines be taken to be completely cured of fibromyalgia, should it be coupled with any exercises?

Hello,

I apologize for the delayed response.

There is not any side effects form ayurveda treatments and she can take while lactation - it never harms her or her child too. Besides as per Ayurveda treatment, it surely can be cured. She only need to continue the medicines till she feels better and is cured. If someone follows all instructions and medicines regularly it takes only two or three years to complete cure. There is no need of any exercise.

As there are various brands of ayurvedic medications available around, I would be able to suggest you a good quality medications to help your wife deal with her problems if you can let me know your location.

Further since the treatment may take time, the dosage and frequency of treatment needs to be monitored regularly. The treatment would be very effective if she is followed up regularly by an ayurveda practitioner.
