Brief Answer:
It could be due to Edema or Haematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The swelling could be either Bruise or Haematoma (collection of blood).
It would get resolved spontaneously in the course of time.

Yes, she can continue using Icepack.

She should use analgesic and mild anti-inflammatory tablet (eg. Tylenol/Acetaminophen) for a speedy recovery and get relieved from pain.
The antibiotic should be added if there is any suspicion of infection (may require a prescription from your local physician).

Nothing to worry. It will come down.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.

Wish you good health
