Why Is My Toddler Having Crawling Sensation All Over His Body With Loose Stools?

Question: My 18 year old son has been having an itchy and crawling sensation all over his body for the past 2 weeks in addition he is experiencing loose bowels. He also has mild headaches at times.

Brief Answer: See below Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. These are the probabilities I would consider based on your description. 1 . Food allergy. Itching of skin with loose stools indicates possible food allergy. If he has eaten any processed food or restaurant food it could be causing it. 2. Viral Infection Viral illnesses can present with similar symptoms. I would start him on anti histamines like allegra 120 mg once daily along with plenty of oral liquids and electrolyte solution like pedialyte. Your pediatrician will know about this drug.
