Hi. My one-year old girl fell off our bed onto her face two days ago. She cried for about 15 minutes. We rushed to ER and did a CT Scan which showed that all was good. She was her usual self for the rest of the day. But since yesterday evening she hasn't been her usual self: very cranky sometimes and woke up a lot at night crying. Daycare too said she was crying more than usual during the day today. Any reason to worry?

Brief Answer: Reasons to cranky baby after falling off the bed.. Detailed Answer: Hi, Usually, after such trauma, problems will show after 72 hours after the accident. Please check your girl carefully for any bleeding or edema (in her head especially). Pain is one reason why babies cry, you can give her paracetamol syrup to relieve pain (for a couple of days). Please assist her when passing the urine and bowel motion to look for anything unusual. You should also look inside her mouth for sores, redness or edema of the throat/any teeth going out. As long as she is feeding well, not bleeding and doing her daily activities well, no need to worry. If she won't be relaxed and keep being cranky, can consult your pediatrician for further evaluation. Otherwise, nothing to worry. All the best! Dr.Bardha
