Brief Answer:
lidocaine doesn act on local ulcer

Detailed Answer:
Lignocaine gel will not act on the ulcer. It acts only on the nerves by blocking it. In an open ulcer the nerve endings are damaged. The pain is carried by the nerves underneath the ulcer. So the jelly ll not penetrate the ulcer to reach below it.
It may cause toxicity of lignocaine but no pain relief

Should I stop using the Lidocaine if it doesn't help the burning of the open ulcer?
Taking the pain killer because the Medihoney burns terribly. so there isn't anything for the pain, I shouldn't use any pain medication. Is it dangerous putting the Lidocaine on every other day? You mentioned Toxicity.
Thank you XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
yes, stop using it

Detailed Answer:
In case the ulcer is not healing for three months you better get in touch with a surgeon and get it diagnosed. The causes for nonhealing ulcers range from infection to cancer to venous insufficiency.
Stop using medihoney and lignocaine, take antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs after consulting a good surgeon. Only then pain ll go and ulcer shall heal.

I have gone to a surgeon who wanted to do the surgery by blocking off the bad veins and I do not want to do that. I do have venous insufficiency. I was going to the Wound Clinic, they told to use the Medihoney and Lidocaine. Now I should stop the medicine and just let it heal? Also I wear the stockings from the Wound Clinic. And the ulcer is wrapped after applying the medicine. Now the left leg is weeping.
Taking antibiotic for ten days now.I take Fiorinal with codeine 3 ~ four times a day for headaches & scoliosis and Lidocaine Cream 5% for venous inflammatory ullcerated left leg. neither pain medicine helps the leg.
But Fiorinal does keep me pain free from headaches and scoliosis.
Am I over dosing myself with pain medicine would rather just take Fiorinal since you said before today that Lidocaine doesn't help my foot.

Brief Answer:
hi

Detailed Answer:
Pain medicine is ok. You are not overdosing.
Regarding ulcer - stockings surely would help.
But as long as you have the venous insufficiency, one part or the other of your legs ll keep bleeding.
Another thing you can do to help yourself is keep your foot elevated while sitting & sleeping with pillows under your feet. While standing at one place, try not standing still. Keep shifting your weight from one foot to other, keep contracting your leg muscles. Though surgery to tigh those veins is the best option.

The ulcer isn't bleeding but my left leg in back above the heel is weeping making the stocking damp. I change the stocking every day. Will this heal even though I've
stopped the Medihoney and Lidocaine cream? I weigh 95 pounds and I am not
diabetic.
Thank you for your answers.

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
You shall follow the routine of contraction of calf muscles whenever standing and keeping limbs above waist level when sitting or lyong down, in case u want to avoid surgery. This shall heal, but may take upto 3 months.
