Why Do I Have Nausea And Dizziness Give Days After Drinking Alcohol And Taking Vitamins To Overcome Hangovers?

Question: I went on a vacation and drank alcohol daily and took the vitamins to stop hangover for 5 days.It worked at first,but it has been 5 days without alcohol and I'm so nauseous and some what dizzy. The nausea is really a huge problem. Please help. Thank you.

The upset stomach and nausea is likely due to alcohol infyced gasritis. It occurs due to irritation of stomach lining caused by alcohol.
You can take zantac 150 mg thrice daily for the next week. The symptoms will subside in few days.
You can also take Tylenol if headache is troublesome.

I so appreciate your attention to all of this and your great advice.I do have another question,wondering if Lexapro could have anything to do with the nausea. I have only been on it for 9 days.Do you have an opinion on this drug? Thank you,again

You are welcome.
Nausea is a very common side effect of lexapro. In fact the headache you are experiencing is also likely to be the effect of lexapro. The key is to continue the medication. One your body get used to lexapro, these side effects will fade away. This can take up to 2 weeks.
Tips to avoid nausea while on Lexapro
-Eat small frequent meals rather than large portions of food
-Avoid alcohol and smoking
-Limit caffeine intake
- You can take over the counter antacids like pepto-bismol
-Continue Zantac for a week as we discussed earlier and as and when needed thereafter.
-snacking on salty crackers can also help with nausea.

Use Tylenol for headache.
These adverse effects of Lexapro will eventually fade away in 2 to 3 weeks.
