Posted on Thu, 29 Feb 2024
Question: have a hard large lump on left side of jaw that was shown to be a lymph node 6.6mm, had had the lump for 6 months now. First appeared after major facial swelling that went down after 10 days of augmentin but the lump stayed the same. CT scan also showed 2 other "masses" one 7mm and one 9mm. Wondering if its something to be concerned about.

Hello and thank you for asking

From the scanner's point of view it does not look malignant.Due to your XXXXXXX age i will suggest you at first to have the tests for EBV virus, for the probability of mononucleosis

Brief Answer:
Blood tests

Detailed Answer:
Most people who have infectious mononucleosis, or mono, get it only once. Rarely, however, mononucleosis symptoms may recur months or even years later

So you may have again the EBV test
