Question: Attn. : Dr. (pls refer this question to Dr. as I had been taking his medication for the past 2 months).

Hello Doctor

I had been taking Ranitidine 300 mg as advised in the morning. I also take cold milk in the morning and at night. However, I get the burning sensatiion from below the throat and down after I go to bed. During day time, i feel alright.

The issue I had with Ranitidine is only at night time i get the burning sensation.
Can I know how long should I take Nexium 20 so that I can bring some from XXXXXXX
Also, Acotiamide I have stock for almost a month. Should I buy more.


I am taking chilled milk in the morning and at night as advised though it is irritating my throat at times.

Again start Nexium as you were on. PPI are helping you so stop H2 blocker Ranitidine.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

H2 blocker(weak antacid) are not helping you.I would like to shift you on Nexium again. Nexium too is a very safe drug and you should continue with it. Continue the medicines you were on previously.
Stop Ranitidine. Nexium empty stomach Acotiamide as you are on.

Hello,

You have to bring medicine from your country get at least 2 months of Nexium 20 mg. However if during the day Ranitidine is controlling your symptoms and problem arises only at night then you can try taking Ranitidine at night time 300mg for few days.

Course duration of Acotiamide is 3 months only so no need to buy more. If milk is causing irritation then don't take it.
Follow up after 2, 3 days (Take Ranitidine at night).
