Question: I constantly get bruises or dark blotches on my forearms. Sometime it is a direct result to of banging into something other times they just seem to pop-up. they fade away over a couple week period only for new ones to appear. they don't generally hurt and are flat. (not raised against my touch). the don't appear anywhere but my forearms. What's up?

Brief Answer:
As explained.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Such a problem as you have mentioned can occur due to one of the following reasons:
Increased capillary fragility in the affected areas.
Some anti-platelet effect; many a time difficult to get an exact reason.
Medications like Aspirin.
Any blood coagulopathy.

The exact cause can be found only on clinical evaluation and most important is the relevant investigations to know the cause so that appropriate management can be done as and if required.

I hope this answer helps you.
