Question: Hi, I have a slight pain that come and go in my left testicle up to my lower abdomen. No lump, nothing abnormal. when I touch it, or press it, it doesn't hurt at all. What could this possibly be?
This has been going on for few days. I did have this problem before when i masturbate too much and i read in the internet that its working too hard to produce sperm. But i havent been doing it for the past 4 days and its been a bit painful. Please help!

Thanks for your query.

Based on what you have described, a mild Varicocele on left side is the first possibility I think of. The pain and discomfort in testicle along with pain in lower abdomen might be due to pulling of the engorged veins. However this can be confirmed only on clinical examination and Doppler study. Therefore please consult some Urologist and get it tested.

About your doubt regarding production of sperm in relation to masturbation, I would like to make it clear that masturbation has no ill effect on production of sperms at all. Please remove this myth from your mind.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your answer

How do we treat mild Varicocele and what is the cause of it? I am going overseas tomorrow and would not have the time to get this check until next 2 weeks which is when im going to be back in the country to get this check. Is this going to be okay?

Thank you

Varicocele of the Testicular vein is a condition that occurs due to incompetency of the valves that are place in these veins. These valves prevent the column of the blood to fall while in standing or in vertical position resulting in pooling of the blood and engorgement of these veins.

Since it is minimal you can delay the test to be done. In the meanwhile if you get pain, you may take some pain killers available over the counter and support your scrotum.

Please feel free to ask if you any more questions.

Thanks with Regards.

Last question.
What is usually the treatment for this kind of condition? Is this a serious condition or very common?

Thank you

Thanks for your query. If the varicocele is minimal and if the pain is just a little discomfort, no treatment is required.

Varicocele of grade 3-4 is associated with infertility. In that case, one may have to undergo surgery which involves ligation of the engorged veins.

Hope I have answered your queries.

Thanks and Regards.

Hi, I am a 33 Year Hindu MALE. From last 12 years, My testicles always hangs in the scrotum like balls very loosely and they are never tight. I always feel that they will be heart while I drive a Bike or Run, etc.
Earlier, they were perfectly alright and tight. About 12 years back, I started to have nocto-urinal emmisions (night-falls), every week. After some months, there were some filling of itching over the scrotum, I used to make itching by hand, many times to remove itching. After few months, I don't know what happened, testicle balls hangs all the time in the scrotum and are very loose since then. I feel Itching even now and then and I use to itch around the scrotum by hand and itching is gone.
I still have nocto-urinal emmisions (night-falls), after 15 days or 1 month. I even masturbate, sometimes, so that I could not have nocto-urinal emmisions (night-falls). I feel ashamed on it. When I have night-falls, I become awake just after that and can not easily fall asleep for another 1-2 Hrs., and all cloth become wet. I want to get rid of all these things.
I am very much worried about testicle balls always hanging in the scrotum and I never feel tightness in the testicles and scrotum. I am also worried about night-falls (noct-urinal emissions).
Is all this OK or something wrong?
I am still unmarried and want to marry very soon, but worried about wether I will be able to perform sexual activity satisfactorily or not? I am very concerned about it. I have never consulted any doctor or anybody for this problem.
Please help me or suggest me, accordingly.
In hope of quick response.

Earlier this year I noticed a dark brown mark on my scrotum which at first I thought was a bruise. It is painless and completely flat. Looks probably like a liver spot and is about 1cm wide when I stretch/flatten out the skin. If anything the mark has faded rather than gone darker. Could it just be a liver spot or freckle - i am quite a freckled person. I'm 35 years of age.

Hello. I am a 14 year old male and I have discovered a rash right in between my scrotum and anus, and there is another one right next to it. I have applied anti-itch cream to get rid of the itch, and I have to do that every couple of hours. It is red and feels rough and dry (until I add the cream). Please advise?

Can testicular torsion cause LOW grade pain?

doctor1 MD

Ok, I asked about this yesterday in the main forum. After thinking about it and being a little more clear headed, I decided to put it here in the "ask a specialist." Most of my question yesterday went unanswered. What was answered was very short...

I was diagnosed with intermittent testicular torsion 3 years ago and had orchiopexy performed with non absorbable sutures. Before the surgery my testicle would be backwards (180 degrees) 90% of the time or more and I had pain every day from it....
