Question: Hi, I have a slight pain that come and go in my left testicle up to my lower abdomen. No lump, nothing abnormal. when I touch it, or press it, it doesn't hurt at all. What could this possibly be?
This has been going on for few days. I did have this problem before when i masturbate too much and i read in the internet that its working too hard to produce sperm. But i havent been doing it for the past 4 days and its been a bit painful. Please help!

Thanks for your query.

Based on what you have described, a mild Varicocele on left side is the first possibility I think of. The pain and discomfort in testicle along with pain in lower abdomen might be due to pulling of the engorged veins. However this can be confirmed only on clinical examination and Doppler study. Therefore please consult some Urologist and get it tested.

About your doubt regarding production of sperm in relation to masturbation, I would like to make it clear that masturbation has no ill effect on production of sperms at all. Please remove this myth from your mind.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you need further assistance.

How do we treat mild Varicocele and what is the cause of it? I am going overseas tomorrow and would not have the time to get this check until next 2 weeks which is when im going to be back in the country to get this check. Is this going to be okay?

Thank you

Varicocele of the Testicular vein is a condition that occurs due to incompetency of the valves that are place in these veins. These valves prevent the column of the blood to fall while in standing or in vertical position resulting in pooling of the blood and engorgement of these veins.

Since it is minimal you can delay the test to be done. In the meanwhile if you get pain, you may take some pain killers available over the counter and support your scrotum.

Please feel free to ask if you any more questions.

Thanks with Regards.

Last question.
What is usually the treatment for this kind of condition? Is this a serious condition or very common?

Thank you

Thanks for your query. If the varicocele is minimal and if the pain is just a little discomfort, no treatment is required.

Varicocele of grade 3-4 is associated with infertility. In that case, one may have to undergo surgery which involves ligation of the engorged veins.

Hope I have answered your queries.

Thanks and Regards.

Hello, I went to the doctor because I had sore externally on my anus that was bleeding. I believed it to be an abcess. He agreed. I just got done taking antibiotics. I didn t bleed for the ten days I was on antibiotics. After that, I noticed a build up in left scrotum/growing area, when I squeezed it felt pressure to explode the abcess. The abcess didn t open at first and I noticed bleeding internally coming out of my anus. As I kept squeezing, the abcess opened and started bleeding again

Hello,I have a great amount of pain in the area between my testicles and my anus. The muscle there from about the end of my butt to the bottom of the scrotum in extremely sore and swollen. May even be some slight bruising. It hurts to walk, lay down, and sit. The only time I don't really feel anything is when I'm standing. I have no idea how this occurred. I began playing basketball on monday and wednesday of last week and I did not stretch. I just started running. I did not feel any pain afterwards. Then, on thursday afternoon I began feeling some discomfort and then beginning friday afternoon I began experiencing a lot of pain, tightness, and swelling and since then it has been a progressing or steady pain and the area is still swollen. I'm not sure what happened. Do you have any idea? Or any idea how I can get better by myself because I currently don't have the insurance to cover me and anything I can do on my own to relieve this pain will be greatly appreciated. Also, do you know what that muscle is called? I don't think its the groin because my inner thigh or the muscle that is between my leg and torso are fine. It basically feels like a pulled muscle under my scrotum and in front of my anus and on the left side of the line of skin that runs from the bottom of the scrotum toward the anus. Please Help! :)

I'm a 32 year old male 6'0 and 195 lbs. I had a hard workout on Monday. The next day i noticed kind of an air bubble on my penis. It went away at night and was still gone the next morning. After a few hours at work the swelling returned and when I got home it moved from the top and side of my penis and my scrotum swelled. I think it may be a hernia, it does not hurt and was hoping to get an answer. Trying to see my primary physician tomorrow. I went to urgent care and the Dr. thought it may be an allergic reaction. However when I saw him the swelling had subsided.

Can testicular torsion cause LOW grade pain?

Ok, I asked about this yesterday in the main forum. After thinking about it and being a little more clear headed, I decided to put it here in the "ask a specialist." Most of my question yesterday went unanswered. What was answered was very short...

I was diagnosed with intermittent testicular torsion 3 years ago and had orchiopexy performed with non absorbable sutures. Before the surgery my testicle would be backwards (180 degrees) 90% of the time or more and I had pain every day from it....
