Brief Answer:
Lyme disease treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Primary treatment of lyme disease is with antibiotics, however the results are more encouraging during the initial stages where a 4-5 weeks antibiotic course can help in curing the illness. As the duration increase and stages progress, the results of long term antibiotic treatment is not encouraging. Still a 4-5 weeks of antibiotic doxycycline can be tried.
The depression and anxiety should also be treated along with the lyme disease. You need proper treatment for the same. There are various effective therapies for depression like fluoxetine, venlafaxine, bupropion, mirtazapine or escitalopram and they are all very effective and mostly safe. You may also require some benzodiazepines like clonazepam or lorazepam for a short period like 2-3 weeks to reduce the anxiety and help with your sleep.
If you are averse to the drug therapies then there is also an option of cognitive behavioural therapy. This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.
Treatment of lyme disease is with a team work which involves a psychiatrist and a physician and a psychologist. Everybody has to work together.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

Do you recommend another round of antibiotics now? I am on 30mg mirtazipine 1 at night,1 .5mg clonazepam at night. 1 10mg. Buspironeng 3 times a day. The clonazepam seems to work the best but my doctor is reluctant to prescribe it. Can you recommend a competent doctor in the XXXXXXX North XXXXXXX area

Other options

Detailed Answer:
Hello
If Mirtazapine 30mg is not working then it would be wirthwhile switching the medicine to either Venlafaxine or Paroxetine. Both of them are good anti-anxiety anti-depressants.
