Question: During my term of service in the Army (1966 - 1969) I was stationed in Liberia, West XXXXXXX As part of the regimen I was subjected to was a weekly dosage of an anti-malarial tablet. We were never told what exactly it was; could it have been quinine, or is there some other product that was in common use at that time? Any known brand name for what it might have been? My medical records made no mention of it, either, nor was there any references to the gamma globulin injections we got semi-annually.

Brief Answer:
either proguanil or chloroquine or dapsone

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your need to know what medication you were taking.

During that period, the medications used as antimalarial medications were proguanil or chloroquine or dapsone. So it has to be either one of them.

I hope I answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
