When Will I Get Periods After Stopping Endogest If I Am Not Pregnant? Trying To Conceive.

Question: Hi doctor i m 24 yrs old trying to concieve.Last month i did D&C,then our doctor gave me the intercourse dates and told me to take ENDOGEST 200 tablet from 15th day onwards for 20 days.now it is my 32nd day. as i know by taking endogest i wont get my periods.please suggest me how further to proceed and if so when will i get periods after stopping endogest if i m not pregnant

Thank you for posting your query.

Your treatment plan was on the right track. Endogest was given to you to help prepare the endometrium for implantation. The dose at which you are taking it, would not cause menstrual delays.

I would like to know about your condition in detail;

1. since how long you have been trying to conceive?
2. What all investigation have you got done?
3. What were the investigations done on your partner?
4. What was the diagnosis told to you by your treating doctor?

i m 24 yrs old 5 feet 3 inch height and 57 kg weight.↲I m trying to conceive for past 6 months and for 4 months i was given tablets to regularize my periods like nostra my periods got regularized, den last month D & C was made as i mentioned earlier, now today is my 33rd day.↲Semen analysis was made to my husband but he took d test 12 to 15 days before ejaculation of sperm so his sperm motility was less but his sperm count is normal. ↲How to find out d pregnancy test or still 2 endogest tablet is remaining to complete 20 days course so when ll i get periods if i m not pregnant

Thank you for writing back.

You can check for pregnancy at home with a urine pregnancy kit. You can purchase one urine pregnancy/home pregnancy kit and follow the instructions given in the package insert.

If you are not pregnant, You should get your periods at the usual due date.

This endogest tablet generally does not cause any delay in periods, but rarely it may delay the periods.

You need to test for pregnancy if you do not get your period even after 15 days of your due date.

You do not have to worry at this stage. You can relax and wait for another week and see if you are pregnant.

If the urine pregnancy test becomes positive, You should consult your treating obstetrician for proper follow up and management of pregnancy appropriately.

one last question i just want to know about few tablets
Nostra, Primolute,Progynova do they help in pregnancy or it is given for regularising periods.

Hi,

Thanks for following up.

Nostra is a hormone called Norethidrone. Its normally used as a birth control pill and does help regularising periods. Primolut is a similar drug for similar use.

Progynova is a Estrogen tablet and doesnt have any use in fertility. I am not sure why that would be given in such a case as yours.

I personally feel that ovulation induction drugs and follicular studies is the next course of treatment in your case.
