Question: What is the right time for braces. My son is 10 year old now and his upper front teeth is not aligned.

Hi,

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.

As far as the malalignment of the teeth in you son is concerned, there is nothing to panic.

The alignment of the teeth will not be proper at age between 8-11 years, it is called ugly duckling stage. In this stage the canine will be erupting and it applies pressure over the roots of the lateral incisors and there will spacing between the central incisors. So nothing to worry till the permanent canines and premolar erupts.

This malalignment will get correct by its own. This will take another 3-4 years. Once the permanent teeth erupts, we you can go ahead with orthodontic treatment if the teeth are still malaligned.
