Posted on Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Question: Hello,

One of my close friends sent me the MR images of his father. Could you read them and let us know your interpretation?

Thanks.

We would appreciate if you could be specific about the type and curability of the tumor. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
It may be glioblstoma multiforme(GBM).

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

As we discussed earlier, there is a mass in right parietal region associated with edema and necrotic area within. So, it may be glioblstoma multiforme(GBM).
Exact pathology can only be confirmed by biopsy.
It is an aggressive tumour and it tends to invade the surrounding structures.
Total resection of tumour is not possible. After resection radiotherapy, chemotherapy can be given.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.
