Brief Answer:
Baseline BMI measurement and daily calorie restriction should be avoided

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Surgery for obesity is indicated in morbid obesity states where BMI is above 40.

Hence, it's first advisable to get the BMI recorded. Simultaneously, thyroid issues and Diabetes have to be ruled out through appropriate tests.

Fried and fatty food stuff should be avoided. Oatmeal should be included in the breakfast on a daily basis.

Weight reduction should be a gradual process over 3 to 6 months. Hence you should give exercises keeping this in mind.

For individuals above 40 years of age it's advisable to screen for cardiac disease and in all such established cases, physical training should be cautiously given.

In all obese individuals with no comorbid medical conditions, regular physical exercise for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is indicated.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you.
