Question: Hi Sir,
From last 1 month, my sister used to feel little pricking feeling in right side breast. Then doctor advised her to get the following tests done.
1. MANTOUX Test
2. Serum Prolactin REPRODUCTIVE HORMONES PROFILE (FEMALE)
3. Thyroid Function Tests
4. Ultrasound
5. Digital Mammography
6. FNAC (U/S guided FNAC)

So, I need an opinion on the report.

Brief Answer:
Surgial excision

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Your sisters pricking feeling in right side of breast is due to fibroadenoma.

Her lesion in right breast in digital mammography and subsequent FNAC has confirmed the finding.

Her mantoux test is also negative for tuberculosis.

Thyroid function tests and serum prolactin report is normal.

Women with fibroadenoma have a slightly higher risk of breast cancer later in life.

If the lump is left in place and watched carefully, it may need to be removed at a later time if it changes or grows.

In very rare cases, the lump is cancer, and will need further treatment.

She does not need to worry as it is a benign condition but since your mother had history of breast cancer simple excision by a breast surgeon is advised

She can also take paracetamol tablets twice daily.

Hope i have answered your query.
