Brief Answer: Assesement of weight depends on birth weight Detailed Answer: Namasthe Welcome to Healthcare-magic Greetings of the day Dear XXXX Being a Parent myself , I understand your concern and apprehension. Let me reassure you things can be taken care off. Whether weight of 8.57 is alright at 11 months of age, opinion is possible when one knows what is the birth weight. Baby weighs double the birth weight at send of 5 months and is three times its birth weight at end of 1st year. So kindly let me know what was the birth birth. Weight of 8.57 at 11 months seems okay. Vomiting if its no bilious , its only occasional and there is no distension of abdomen there seems to be no cause for concern. Its likely to be due to gastro-oesophageal reflux. Proper burping and avoiding putting him to bed immediately after feeds and Burping will take care of it. I would like some more additional about vomiting, how frequent is the vomiting? is it forceful? does it occur after every feeds? Kindly let me know the details. I would suggest the following diet, which you can change and give it to him suiting his tastes and liking 1. Khicdi and curds: Khicdi with curds and a spoon of desi ghee added: Curds is a natural probiotic and will help restore normal bacteria of colon and prevent further loose motion. Ghee is high calorigenic 2. Wheat Porridge/Dalia/Lapsi 3. Rice water 4. Dhal water 5. Simyl MCT Drops: 10 drops thrie a day. They contain Medium chain triglyceride absorption of whih is not affected even during loose motion and will help build up weight 6. Continue giving Breast feeding, till 12-15 months of age. I would also share the following recipe which you can try, your kid will love it. 1.Veg soup: Contents: tomato -2, potato-1small, Onion - 1 small, Carrot-1 small. Preperation: Wash all veggies properly peel potato, onion and carrot. Boil tomato in water for 5 to 6 mins sothat u can see the skin of tomato cracks. Now gently remove skin of tomato. Add tomato and the peeled veggies to a cooker with 1/2 a glass of water. Add pinch of salt and whistle the cooker for 2 to 3 times (veggies shud be cooked well). Boil it till it reaches the required consistency and then feed LO. Note:You can add any veggie to make this soup including leafy veggies like spinach, amaranthus, cabbage etc. 2.Pumpkin: Take peeled pumpkin. dice the pumpkin and then presure cook it with little salt. mash well with hands and feed it along with rice or as such. 3.Gourds (any ashgourd, rich gourd etc etc): Make it finger size and then pressure cook it or boil in water till it becomes soft. Thank you Doctor.... above receipe seems good and new for me. Will definately try. His birth weight was 2.6 kg. I feel his vomiting problem is forcefully as after few spoons he forced as he wants to puke. This problem is occured after we started feeding him food (6 months). On 21st March he was vomiting whole day even after taking water & breast milk and in the evening he got fever. Doctor has given Motinorm & other medicince and he was bit OK next day.

Brief Answer: Present weight is erfectly okay Detailed Answer: Dear XXXX By age of 1 year the birth weight should tripple that is 2.6kg * 3 = 7.8kg . So weight of 8.57 kg at 11 months is perfectly okay and there seems to be no cause for concern. Babies are usually fussy and vomit out some of the food which they don't like. If the weight gain is adequate, baby is sleeping well after feeds and urine output is adequate then there seems to be no cause for concern. Keep trying new things experimenting with the taste buds of your little one. There is absolutely no cause for concern. I would also suggest you to continue Motinorm for a week. Do write to me if you need any further assistance. Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life. Take Care Best Regards Deepak
