Brief Answer:
Pain medications will help.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The trigger finger happens due to an inflammation of the tendon sheath. The first line treatment is rest and pain killers to decrease the pain and swelling. In case these are not helpful then a finger splint may help to keep the finger straight and in the meantime the inflammation of tendon sheath subsides.

In case this also fails then a steroid shot in the tendon sheath may be needed along with regular physiotherapy. Surgery is kept as a last option when all the other treatment measures fail to bring relief.

Do consult an orthopedician to decide the best treatment option for you.

I hope this answers your query. Wishing you good health.
