Brief Answer: please find the cause as advised and manage it Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Welcome to health care magic. The daytime drowsiness must be treated because it will affect your driving skills and your work performance. But like any other disease before you come to treatment you must know the exact cause of the disease that is the right diagnosis. The daytime drowsiness has many causes- one very common cause can be inadequate sleep during night like a lack of sleep due to care of a child or lack of sleep onset or any other disturbance so all you need to improve the sleep hygiene if that is a cause. The second important cause is any drug-induced drowsiness, there are many drugs which cause daytime sleepiness as an adverse effect. If you happen to be an obese person then cause of daytime sleepiness maybe inadequate sleep in night time due to sleep apnoea syndrome. This is a disorder where patient has intermittent choking episodes during sleep and has frequent interruptions in the sleep so he or she feels daytime sleepiness. It will be a good idea to get your self evaluated by a local physician and get investigated and then treat according to the cause. I hope the advice will be helpful for you.
