Brief Answer:
Size/volume should be monitored to rule out malignancy suspicion

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

The main worry is to rule out malignancy with a presentation of thyroid nodules. FNA should be considered in nodules that have a size greater than 1 cm particularly in the presence of suspicious features present on ultrasound.

If the nodules or nodule are not increasing in size / volume over time then it is a good sign. Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) should be opted for if the nodule has increased by more than 50% in terms of its volume during the period of these follow up ultrasounds, in consult with your doctor.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
