Brief Answer: Emergency pill can give protection Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for the query. The possibility of pregnancy is less in your case as you have taken emergency contraceptive pill within 17 hours of the intercourse. According to your last menstrual period, you had intercourse on around 12th day of menstrual cycle. In case of regular 28 to 30 days menstrual cycles, usually ovulation can occur on around 14th to 16th day. But sometimes ovulation can occur two days before or after. Emergency pill can give protection during ovulation period also. So don't worry. No need to take second pill, one I pill is sufficient. Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer followup queries. If you are satisfied with the answer, please give your review at the end of the discussion. Take care.

Brief Answer: One tablet is sufficient Detailed Answer: Hi, One tablet is sufficient. Unnecessary intake of high dose of hormones can affect menstrual cycles and future fertility. Yes, to test for pregnancy you have to wait till your expected date of periods. If you do not get periods on expected date, you can go for blood test for pregnancy on that day. If you want to go for urine pregnancy test, better to test 4 to 5 days after missed period. Possibly you may not get that need, don't worry. Take care.

Brief Answer: Within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse Detailed Answer: Hi, Emergency pill is expected to give protection when taken within 72 hours of the unprotected intercourse . Protection rare is high when taken within 24 hours. Usually intake of one pill may not lead to major changes in weight. Take care.
