Brief Answer:
It is within normal range

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

The normal range for BUN is 6 - 20 mg/dl unless your laboratory suggests a different range for the test. Urea nitrogen is a breakdown product of proteins. All other tests are also within normal range.

Your BUN is on the upper side of normal. I hope you do not have any odd symptoms lately. Though it is within normal range, I think if you discontinue whey protein it should get back to normal.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
It is your choice

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

You are safe either ways. It is your choice. But if you want to rule out whey protein as the cause of BUN, you may discontinue it now and recheck in a few days. Discontinuing whey protein will also protect you from any unknown side effects.

Brief Answer:
Cholesterol is high

Detailed Answer:
Hi

High cholesterol and low testosterone are not known to be side effects of whey protein. The possible side effects are stomach upset, bloating, tiredness, headache, etc. Since this medicine has notbeen extensively researched, there maybe unknown side effects.

Testosterone is ok.

Cholesterol is high and should be controlled with diet and exercise. In diet you should avoid high calorie foods like milk products (cheese, butter, cream, etc). You should also exercise daily for atleast 30min. Try this for 3 months. If this does not bring down you cholesterol levels, then you will need medicine to bring it down.
