What Is The Dosage Of Zyprexa For Symptoms Of Psychotic Conditions?

Question: Hey friend.

hope you are doing good.

now i have been on 6,25 mg for exactly 3 weeks. and i'm pretty certain that i am not under 100% dose yet (100% dose = exactly full dose for me).

my icelandic psychiatrist said guessed it was 10 mg per day, you guessed around 7,5 mg.

so i am wondering if you know what is the highest possible dose that is exactly 100% dose for me. do you know that ? what is it ?

when i told my icelandic psychiatrist that i still wasnt under 100% dose even when i was at 6,25 mg she got a little upset and said that i was far under 100% dose. but its been 3 weeks now and i feel no different.

i just need to get to like 90% dose or 95% dose so the drug doesnt completely close down what it closes down.

i am thinking this correctly right ? people can be on 90% dose and 50% dose, right ?

i hope you understand this... what i mean is that 100% dose (full dose) would be exactly the amount of Zyprexa that it takes to work as it should on the whole body. 90% dose is then exactly the amount of Zyprexa that makes it work on 90% of the body... or something like that... so at 90% dose there is not enough of the drug to work on the whole body. only 100% dose or more would work on the whole body.

please correct me if i am thinking this incorrectly.

ok. around 9 months ago i stopped on the needle injections (Zypadhera) and started taking the oral pill form of the drug (Zyprexa).

before i changed to oral pills i was on 300 mg of Zypadhera once every 4 weeks for a few months but the last month before starting on oral pills i took 210 mg Zypadhera.

after that 210mg needle injection i stopped the drug completely in one step. i was told then that it would take like 3 months for the drug to completely leave my body.

i think around 7 weeks after that last needle injection (210mg) i started to sleep less and less and felt different in my body. i felt alot better. and i felt like more was going on inside my body. like changes were happening. i'm think strongly that those changes came because i was under 100% dose then. but i went too much and too fast under 100% dose because after a few days i couldnt sleep at all and was awake for like 30 hours and at that point i started taking 10 mg oral pills. and been working my way down again.

so if i quickly look at that then the 210 mg needle injection is around 5 mg oral Zyprexa dose per day.

and the rest of the 300 mg needle injections are a little in my body. and its around 7 weeks after my final needle injection of 210 mg.

so from all that i think i can see that my 100% dose is around 5 mg per day oral Zyprexa dose.

what would you guess is exactly 100% dose for me now ?

peace & love.

thanks so much for the assistence.

Brief Answer:
100% dose is not fixed, body adjusts

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Welcome again and sorry for late response.
I read your query thrice to get your point.

You are on 6.25 mg since 3 weeks without any problem.
Actually full dose for an individual is not fixed. When one changes dose rapidly it affects the body and dose reaches under or beyond 100% and causes some disturbances.

Initially you were stable on 10 mg. You needed that dose because of trouble after stopping injections. You thought to reduce that 10 mg and that was a good decision. You gradually reduces it to 8.75 and then 6.25 mg. Body gradually adjusted to the new dose set equilibrium. Of course initially for you 10 mg was 100% dose but later when you had reduced dose 11.25% body got adjusted to it. You continued 8.75 mg and remaining of 10 mg gradually cleared from your body, so your body got 90-95% dose for few days and changed equilibrium and later on 8.75 mg became 100% dose for you. After remaining stable for sufficient time on this dose you have reduced to 6.25 mg and your body adjusted it. Likewise in future you can reduce slowly. 100% dose is not fixed for individual, it changes according to symptoms otherwise one has to take the medicines for lifetime.
In conclusion your current dose of 6.25 mg on which you are stable is 100% dose for you.

Take care.
