What Is The Dosage Of Wikoryl Drops And Tixylix Syrup For Running Nose?

Question: My baby is 12 months old with a running nose, sneezing and light cough. Can i give wikoryl drops and tixylix syrup both or wikoryl only and what dosage? Thank you!

Wikoryl Drops contain Paracetamol, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Phenylephrine. Among these, paracetamol reduced fever if any. Unless the child has fever, I would suggest a different medicine. Chorpheniramine is an antiallergic that needs to be given to your child. But still if you want to give Wikoryl, you can give it 1.5 ml twice daily for 3-5 days.

Tixylix is a cough suppressant and contains foscodeine. Although it can be given along Wikoryl, I would suggest giving some expectorant instead.

I would rather suggest giving Relent syrup 2.5 ml twice daily. It contains both an antiallergic and an expectorant.
