What Is The Dosage Of Clonazepam?

Question: hi this is XXXXX. my doctor has me on 50mg. of zoloft which i started on thursday may 5th. reducing off the diazepam. i told my doctor about serax she said absolutly no.i would like to try the zoloft and clonazepam. when i was on 5mg. of clonazepam i was also on cymbalta. in 1991 the psyhiatrist i was seeing gave me 200mg. of zoloft and 6 pills of clonazepam daily and they worked. but i can't remember the dosage of clonazepam i took. but it was 2 pills at lunch, 2 pills at supper and 2 pills before bedtime. plus 25mg. of imipramine at bedtime. when i told my dr. i was emailing my questions to another dr. she said i was wasting my money and probably talking to a quack. she said definitely no to imipramine. what dosage of clonazepam would you recommend

I generally recommend clonazepam in dose of 0.25 mg three times a day initially. Gradually depending on severity of anxiety and response to the drug it can be increased up to maximum 1 mg three times a day. Considering your overall history and age I guess you will need 1.5-2 mg per day.

In 1991 I think your doctor had given 0.25 mg tablets of clonazepam to you and you were taking 0.5 mg three times a day.

is o.25 mg. stronger than 1.5-2mg. then why did my dr. have me take 2 pills togeather 3x a day. what about the imipramine. are the dosages different now then they were in 1991. would it be possible that he had me on 30mg. 0f clpnazepam 3x a day. my anxiety is getting worse instead of better. i'm so confused about the meds.
right now i am taking 50mg. of zoloft and 2mg.of clonazepam. right now i am taking 20mg.daily
i see my dr. on may 24. please help me in making the right decision. i am so tired of this. i don't know what else to do. how can you divide 0.25mg in 2 tablets 3x a day.

Maximum dose of clonazepam for anxiety disorder is 5-6 mg per day. You have written,''right now i am taking 50mg. of zoloft and 2mg.of clonazepam. right now i am taking 20mg.daily''. Please clarify it. 20 mg clonazepam is only indicated for seizure and it is not used currently for that purpose anywhere.

Probably in 1991 there is only 0.25 mg strength was available in dose so to give you 0.5 mg three times a day, your doctor has told to take two tablets.

Also let me know (after checking or upload the prescription) which strength (dose) of clonazepam you have right now.
