What Is The Difference Between A Perianal Cyst And External Hemorrhoid?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: What exactly is a perianal cyst and how does it compare to an external hemorrhoid? I have something the size of a pea, an inch or so outside of the anus. It has a slight blue tinge and it swells for a short time after a bowel movement. There is no pain and no blood, however, it's smooth and feels firm like a small blood clot under the skin.

Brief Answer:
It could be an External haemorrhoid.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like a External haemorrhoid.
A cyst is a fluid filled or solid swelling, but around peri Anal area is rare.

Please drink plenty of liquids, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Your stool should be soft.

Please consult your Surgeon and get examined clinically. Perianal wart has to be excluded.

If there is no response to dietary measures, Get it removed surgically. It is a simple day care procedure.

Nothing to worry.

Hope I answered your query.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
