Question: What is the difference between Salbair-I and Asthalin? My daughter is currently out of station and has been advised by the local doctor to have nebulization with Salbair-I. She used to undergo nebulization with Asthalin and had been responding earlier. Current doctor suggested Salbair-I. How are these two different or are they same? Thanks much in advance.

Brief Answer:
Salbair I is having levosalbutamol and ipratropium.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Asthalin is having salbutamol which is short acting beta 2 agonist (SABA).
Salbair I is having combination of levosalbutamol and ipratropium. It is better then asthalin.
It is having more bronchodilatation action due to additional ipratropium.
So no need to worry, salbair I is good drug.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your daughter.
Thanks.

Besides being advised salbair I, my 4 year old (weight 17 kgs) was adminstered Azithromycin (200mg/5ml) 8 ML once a day. With a composition of 200mg/5ml, could this dosage be appropriate or would it require any correction.

Secondly, she has been put on Omnacortil Forte, though she did not show any asthmatic symptoms. What circumstances might have led this drug to have been adminsitered.

With much Thanks.

Thanks Doctor for answering my queries. My concern had been at the Azithromycin dosage as well as the administration of Omncortil forte. I was given to understand that Omnacortil couldn't have been administered from Day 1 as well as the dosage of Azithromycin was high. Hence, I had reached out to you. Now, that, I know that the dosage of Azithromycin was appropriate, I am relieved. Thanks Doc for closing this out.
