Question: I AM TRYING TO GET A DESCRIPTION FOR ADDERALL XR, SO ICAN MAKE A COMPARISON FOR ADDERALL VERSUS VYVANSE.

WE HAVE NO REPORTS. THE ADDERALL SEEMS TOWEAR OFF BY 5:00PM AND HE GETS HYPER, DISRUPTIVE, ARGUMENTATIVE, AND DEFIANT. ANTHONY'S DIAGNOSIS ARE: ADHD, DEFIANT DIORDER, PTSD. HIS DR. THOUGHT THAT THE VYVANSE MIGHT LAST A LITTLE LONGER IN HIS SYSTEM.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

The principal difference between Adderall XR and Vyvanse is that Adderall acts in the system for a SHORTER length of time during the day. It typically wears off by around 5PM, as you have observed, whereas Vyvanse lasts all day and is smoother in the system. In my experience, Vyvanse is a better, smoother, and safer medication. I highly recommend you let his doctor prescribe it for him to see how it goes. I expect he will feel better with it.
