What Is The Cause Of My Under-active Thyroid?

default
Posted on Thu, 24 Sep 2020
Question: Hello Doctor,

I'm experiencing fatigue and severe tiredness. Irritated by small things, small conversations. I'm feeling lazy, drowsy(sleepy), vomited 2-3 times in the morning after tea in the past one week. I had Thyronorm - 125mcg on Thursday(26th) last week and didn't have after that as tablets got over and was not in a mood to buy the tablet. Attached is the recent report.
I'm a mother of 3-year-old daughter and taking thyroid medication(different dose) from 2010.
What is the cause of my underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)?
Do I have Hashimoto's disease?
What do the results of my blood test mean?
How long will I need medicine for my hypothyroidism and what are the side effects?
What TSH level will you use as a target for me?
After I'm in the optimal range, how often do you suggest I come back for blood tests to make sure my dosage needs haven't changed?
Am I at risk for related health problems?
How quickly can I expect relief from my hypothyroid symptoms?
Are there any lifestyle changes I can make to relieve my symptoms?
Are there any specific supplements that I need to incorporate in my diet to increase my haemoglobin?

Please help advise me with precisely and clearly as I'm very worried that I'm unable to perform my daily chores normally. Very moody and impulsive behaviour hampers my relationship with my family members, too.
