What Is The Cause And Treatment For Pyospermia?

Question: I am suffering from low sperm count and the sperm analysis reports say pyospermia. Could anybody please suggest if pyospermia causes low sperm count and how can this be treated. Thanks for the help.

Brief Answer: Pyospermia Detailed Answer: Hi, I read your query and I understand your concerns. Following is my reply: 1) Pyospermia means infection of semen leading to presence of pus cells. 2) This infection leads to possible low sperm count and decreased motility. 3) I suggest you undergo semen culture and sensitivity. 4) It will show the organism responsible for pyospermia and the antibiotics which might act against it. 5) Hence i suggest you take antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report and retest semen analysis after 3 months from a standard laboratory. Thanks Sir.Do i need to contact a urologist and also go ahead with a scrotal doppler test as prescribed by my infertility consultant. Please could you clarify.

Brief Answer: Yes Detailed Answer: Hi, First get the test i told you . Then get scrotal doppler done. See urologist with both reports. I suggest you get another semen analysis report from a different reputed laboratory before meeting urologist. Regards
