What Is The Cause And Treatment For UTI?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Feb 2015
Question: Im concerned I have a UTI but the symptoms were present for three day last week went away for the three days and now came back. I was taking cranberry supplements and drinking a lot of water and seemed to help. Symptoms were just urgency to urinate without really needing to, an itching/sharp feeling of having to pee upon waking up in the morning and mild discomfort when urinating. After urinating I still have a strange sensation and very uncomfortable. No stomach pain or any other symptoms.
Only because I'm paranoid and also sexually active. Does this in any way sound like the start of anything STD related ? I've never had one but also have always been in a monogamous relationship. Having odd symptoms just worries me.

Brief Answer:
Please, get your urine analyzed!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. They are suggestive of UTI and I will like to see this ruled out as a possibility through urinalysis. UTI is not an STD and occurs at least once in every ladies lifetime. UTI are always treated with antibiotics and delay may led to complications. Cranberry juice and fluids help with symptoms but would not be able to treat this fully if antibiotics are not added. Please, get your urine analysed.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
