Brief Answer: Visit a General Practitioner first Detailed Answer: Hello This is a very broad query. Chronic illnesses like Diabetes, Hypertension or Chronic mental illness like schizophrenia require specialist evaluation which include detailed history, examination etc. Most often they can be managed and controlled easily by following up with primary doctor, timely referrals to specialists, medication adherence. Patient participation and education by the doctor are key areas that are normally missed. Consult a GP first who will refer you to concerned specialty. Hope i have answered your query. Follow up questions are welcomed. If you are satisfied, close the answer and leave a review if possible. Regards Dr Gourav Monga Consultant Psychiatrist.
