Brief Answer: Acne lesions Detailed Answer: Hi See acne is a very common problem especially in teenager's . There are various things which one should take care off in order to decrease the development of new lesions. Oily skin leads to acne lesions. So first of all, one should try to keep face as dry as possible. Wash your face atleast two to three times in a day. Using a salicylic acid based face wash helps in reducing oil secretion. Avoid using any oil based creams over the face. As much as possible, one should avoid the use of hair oils as oil applied over the scalp also tends to come over the face. Next as far as food items are concerned, one should avoid eating nuts. Only nuts have been found to increase acne lesions. Avoid picking of acne lesions as it tends to lead to scarring. One should use a sunscreen regularly so as to avoid development of pigmented acne scars. Also take proper and adequate treatment. Though acne lesions can develop due to various causes but the most important cause is hormonal. So these lesions tend to take time to heal. Hope it answers your query If you have any other questions, please ask. Dr Geetika Paul
