Question: Which drug is better for gastric reflux? Omeprazole or Rabeprazole ec. My doctor has changed my medication recently to Raberprazolec ec and it seems to be more effective, but am I deluding myself?

Brief Answer: Yes rabeprazole is better. Detailed Answer: If gastric reflux is associated with evidence of oesophagitis on Endoscopy Rabeprazole is better than Omeprazole. Studies found that Rabeprazole scored well than Omeprazole when compared to placebo. Contemporary physicians still prefer the cheapest one. Though I am modern I prefer the one which brings better relief for the patient in front of me than the studies.
