Answered by Dr. T Chandrakant 48 minutes later
Brief Answer:
Rotation around its own axis and is an emergency

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Testicular torsion:
This is a condition in the scrotum wherein the testis rotates around its own axis. Since the testis is suspended by the spermatic cord the cords goes into rotation/twisting around its own axis and causes the venous return blockage as the vein have not much pressure but the artery still supplied the blod till the pressure within the testis rises equal to that of arterial pressure or the twisting is sufficient to cause the blockage.
I hope this answers your specific query.

This is a dire emergency needing earliest diagnosis and surgery to save the testis.

Age: 33

Height: 69''

Weight: 180lbs

Pain in left testicle fro apprx 2-3yrs. Ultrasound showed no lump or tumor. Vericocele was found to be cause for pain. Received series of cord block injections and anti-inflammatory meds. Pain began to radiate from left lower abdomen and into the left testicle. Ultrasound shows no hernia, however, physical exam led my current physician to believe I have a hernia. I have recently read about "NutCracker Syndrome". Is this a common issue, mis-diagnosis of this syndrome. I ask because my urologist wants to go straight into shaving my spermatic cord...???

my husband had testicle masses and ultrasound said malignacy is not excluded or possible lymphangiomas. dr. decided on his own to cut on the scrotum and said he removed a spermatocele. path report did not agree with his finding. Decided to go to Houston dr because pain never stopped and another lump was coming up. Had surgery in houston to remove absess, then a week later went to er because of the severe pain. next week had orchiectomy with removal of testicle, epididmysis and spermatic cord, now have somthing growing around ingunia canal and radiologist said not hernia, now have brownish/red sperm. what is going on?
