Question: what is e/o simple cortical cyst in the upper lobe of the right kidney measuring 3.4x3.0 cms and what happens due to this ?

Welcome to XXXXXXX and thanks for your query.
Simple renal cortical cysts have been increasingly found due to widespread usage of ultrasound scan for abdominal pain.
These cysts need no intervention and need only yearly scan to check for any alarming changes that need intervention.
Wishing you good health.
Best Regards

My mother had a kidney exam and we received following statement:IMPRESSION: Prominent bilateral renal pelves. Small postvoid residual. Left renal cyst. With the above, my mother's doctor says the above condition comes with aging and that the urinary residual needs no treatment. The kidney cyst also does not need treatment. Is my mother's doctor's response true? Will everything just go away naturally with my mother's kidney condition?
