Brief Answer:
it is an autoimmune condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.

Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune condition of skin characterized by oral and genital ulcers and fluid filled lesions and erosions involving body.
It is due to formation of antibodies against our own normal skin tissue which are otherwise required for maintaining integrity of skin. Hence resulting in breaking of integrity which result in blisters and erosions.

The lesions are painful.
Mucosal involvement may also involve conjunctiva, esophagus, vagina, cervix in females and penis in males, urethra, anus.

Diagnosis is clinical. It can be confirmed by skin biopsy and few blood investigations.

Oral steroids or injectable steroids in pulse are treatment of choice.

I Hope I am able to explain you about the disease.
if you have any further query you may ask me.
Stay healthy.
