Psychosis are characterized by delusions. Here the patient is convinced of things that are not real which are based on his intuition,interpretation or hallucination-especially auditory ones. These delusions are often accompanied by agitation, opposition fleeing, etc.

There are often triggers or factors that favour the onset of psychosis. In stress induced psychosis, stress is the main cause. This is the reason for the name stress induced psychosis.

Psychosis could be acute(one time occurrence) or chronic(schizophrenia) depending on its duration.
