It comes in 0.25mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg or 2 mg strengths so it is possible to use 7 mg by combining some of the tablets.
In panic disorder, up to 10 mg is given in divided doses (meaning that not taken in one dose, but split into doses every 8 hours/three times daily).
For anxiety and depression the maximum dose is 4 mg.
For sleep assistance , low doses are used as well ,so 7 mg is not normally used for sleep aid.
Summary: can be used but this high a dose is normally used for panic disorder only
